The English word 'break' means something different to different people. In the Philippines it can be used to mean a break in the day, e.g. for a rest or a snack or merienda, but is not usually applied to short vacations. In the USA, Australia, UK and other English-speaking countries it is also used to mean a short vacation.
We use the word 'break' in this international sense rather than the Philippine way, simply because online statistics show that the people who visit our website are mainly foreigners and OFWs accessing it from overseas.
Residents and OFWs may or may not be familiar with parts of the Philippines beyond their home province, city, or barangay but foreigners seeking exotic breaks are mostly unfamiliar with the Philippines.
It's mainly the latter that we address. We focus on them because they know what they want in general - e.g. good accommodation and food in a tropical climate with clean beach and adventure activities like scuba diving, fishing, kayaking paragliding, surfing, white water rafting, etc., or cultural exploration of crafts and foods, historical churches, World War 2 sites, wonders of nature, and so on.
But these people don't always know specifically where to find what they want. Our aim is to convince them, wherever in the world they may be, that exactly what they are looking for is available and waiting to welcome them right here in the fabulous Philippines.
We target not the rich and super-rich who can pay the highest prices anytime without denting their unlimited bank accounts, but ordinary people who work hard for their income and who want for themselves and their partners or families the best possible break within their affordable budget.
Prices of travel, accommodation and food are always in flux as inflation, currency exchange rates, fuel surcharges, etc. go up and down, but overall they maintain constant market levels which can be compared with others on the internet at the time of planning a trip.
Some of the best value resorts are exclusive. They only accept guests they approve. This is their right, and we have no wish to circumvent their protected privacy. If your desire is strong enough, you will make the essential contacts and persuade them to help you obtain the required acceptance.
We acknowledge the need of advertising to pay for the costs of our website, but advertising will never be allowed to undermine our independence. We're not a large corporation with stakeholders demanding ever higher profits, and we pledge not to compromise our integrity.
